Maryam Nawaz became Pakistan’s first female CM Punjab.

After receiving the most votes in the Punjab Chief Minister election, Muslim League (N) Chief Executive and Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz became Pakistan’s first female Chief Minister and took the oath of office.

In the Punjab Assembly Chief Minister election, Maryam Nawaz got 220 votes. Counting followed. Unheard Sunni Ittehad Council members left the House. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan began voting without the Sunni Ittehad Council while the boycott persisted.

After the announcement of the results, the Speaker Assembly invited Maryam to express her views while congratulating her.

On Monday, Maryam Nawaz took the oath of office as the new Punjab chief minister.

Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman gave the oath of office to the daughter of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s head.
