Netflix has taken down an Indian language film from its platform following a wave of criticism on social media. The movie received negative feedback for its portrayal of a Hindu priest’s daughter consuming meat.
India’s largest religious grouping consists of Hindus, who, along with their families, usually follow a vegetarian diet.
“Annapoorani – The Goddess of Food”, a Tamil-language film released in theatres in December and broadcast on Netflix later the same month, is no longer useful on the international streaming platform as of Thursday. more
