The US gets thousands of AI-generated child abuse allegations in increasing threat.

Last year, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received 4,700 complaints of AI-generated child sexual exploitation material.

The NCMEC told Reuters the result showed a new issue that would emerge as AI technology progresses.

Child safety experts and academics have warned that generative AI software, which can produce text and visuals in response to cues, might worsen online abuse.
