A political threat against the judge supervising the case led the court to increase security on the last day of the trial, according to Donald Trump’s lawyer, who made this claim on Thursday in an attempt to discredit the former US president’s commercial empire in New York civil fraud case.
“This whole case is a manufactured claim to pursue a political goal,” lawyer Christopher Kise said as Trump observed from the defense table. “It has consistently been press releases and behavior, but no proof.”
